Richu M is a young producer who has already gained international experience, as he recorded a very well-received EP for the Young Adults label from Los Angeles. "Slowly And Surely: Greatest Heats" treats rap instrumentals from the 90s in a very sentimental way and stylistically fills in a noticeable gap on the beat scene. "Slowly And Surely: Greatest Heats" musically sketches the future, operating on traces from the past. The artist himself refers the material to Frank O'Hara's modernistic poetry. He compares it to "a late 20th century B-grade science-fiction film about everyday problems." The eclectic character of the cassette release is achieved not only because of the fact that it’s sample based. It’s also the selection of the samples in the context of building tension and boosting the listener’s experience. Along with Afro-American culture motifs, the cassette features a lot of archival recordings that stimulate the imagination. The tricky title of the release emphasizes the "album" formula of the cassette and reflects some of the artist's expectations.
