Nowa Stara Szkoła' ['New Old School'] is the first full-length original project of The Returners duo. The production of this album took quite a long time, hence 25 songs and nearly 80 minutes of music contained on the disc. Returners' productions are characterized by powerful and dirty drums, crackling and well-matched samples and ubiquitous scratches. But this production is definitely a new quality and as Little and Chwiał say - undoubtedly the best album in their work so far. As you may guess, this album is not the work of The Returners alone. There’s a well-chosen list of guests who have contributed a lot to what 'Nowa Stara Szkoła' sounds like. There are old rap stagers, new faces, established and emerging artists, some good friends as well as rappers who have never worked with the duo before. You can't forget about the whole array of pros behind the mixer and turntables, either. As the title may indicate, there's a contrast in how 'new' mixes with 'old' – the BPM spectrum is diverse, sometimes extreme, the samples are not left alone in the beats. They are edited even more and are accompanied by all kinds of synthesizers. The range goes from slow drums and arranged productions, through classic rap ignitions, to powerful electronic beats. In the flood of current productions, where the producer's own style means very little, it is a very coherent and musically thought-through album. We don't know if you've heard so many scratches and cuts on any Polish album, Chwiał is basically the host of this production and adds something to every track, like a leading rapper. In addition to the tracks with guests, you will find several original instrumentals that also depict development in Returners' productions.
